Dick Hogenhout
Teacher,
PABO InHolland

When you move abroad, learning the language often makes life a lot easier. This is the experience of a group of students at PABO InHolland, an Alkmaar-based training college for primary school teachers.

Recently, teacher Dick Hogenhout has been involved in coordinating a student exchange programme. "I was faced with the dilemma of which language school to pick for students moving to Sweden, France, Turkey and Aruba," says Dick.

He did not have to look very far as he turned to the private language institute PCI, only a few streets away from PABO InHolland. Dick says he is impressed with the efficiency and professionalism of PCI's language courses.

"In no time PCI managed to organize individual, tailor-made language courses in Turkish, Papiamento [Aruba's local language], Russian and French for our students. The aim of these courses was to give them basic conversational abilities and writing skills, so that they would feel less alienated in a foreign country and could get off to a good start as a teacher."
